Mentore is a productivity wearable start-up used on the frontline that transitioned from proprietary hardware into SaaS.

Used by frontline workers in factory environments like Rivian and Johnsonville, the wearable app monitored ergo safety standards, provided productivity feedback and acted as a communication vessel between co-workers and management. In some frontline environments the wearable would stay at the workplace and be shared by employees. The companion mobile app would be offered to accomodate access to the app and allow workers to view data in a friendier screen format and make the data accessible even after users returned their wearables. Additionally assigning devices to workers necessitated an intuitive and easy login solution which meant leveraging the paired mobile app to log in as input on a smart watch could be a challenge.
The User Admin
The user admin would be used by managers and executives to track and analyze data both detailed and aggregate. The focus of the dashboard here was to highlight potential safety issues, outliers in performance and minimizing ergo risk factors. We wanted to reinforce the brand and technology, so while the admin was white labeled we would subtly co-brand Mentore up top.
As our lead product designer, Collin excelled at translating complex technical and operational requirements into clear and effective design solutions for our industrial wearables. His contributions not only transformed how operators interact with data on the factory floor but also established a new standard for usability in industrial technology. Collin played a key role in delivering solutions that successfully met both business objectives and field performance goals. I would highly recommend Collin to any team in need of a world-class product designer.
